Centerpieces

Every single piece of hardware in my collection has its own significance for me. It's interesting to think about where each machine came from, how I happened upon it, and what purpose it might have served while it was in use. But some of my computers have more significance than others to the collecting community as a whole. Below are some of the most recognizable exhibits that I own.

Macintosh TV

My first Mac, purchased from the Apple Catalog in 1994. I still have all the original accessories, documentation, and packaging. I upgraded it from 5 MB RAM to the maximum of 8 MB. Still running System 7.1 as it did originally.

Apple III

Purchased from eBay and received as a Christmas present in 2002. Not fully operational, as the floppy disk drive will not boot the machine using the startup disks that I have. Does operate well using BASIC screen commands.

Apple Lisa 2

Has the original Lisa Office System 2.0 installed on the accompanying 10 MB ProFile hard disk. No hardware or software modifications have ever been made to upgrade this machine to run the Mac OS. Purchased from eBay.

Original Macintosh

Purchased from a flea market at a cost of $35. Came complete with original accessories box and documentation. Has original mouse with square-cornered connector.

Macintosh Portable

I have several of these unique Macs, as many school districts in my area had purchased them when they were first introduced, before the PowerBook had ever been heard of. I have Portables with and without the trackball, and also have one of the hard-to-find backlit models. 3 of my 5 Portables are in working condition. 2 will not boot, presumably due to motherboard failure.

Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh

Assembled from several parts machines purchased from eBay. Has not yet been buzz-fixed, but otherwise is in perfect working condition.
